Ate there today. Pretty good food. Lots of variety. Sunday crowd, but we got in fairly quick. Lots of veggies and good desserts. Reasonable prices. Worth a visit.
We went to the Southaven location about an hour before closing. It wasn't very busy, but the service was poor. A lot of the food from the bar looked old & dried out. Many of these items were never replaced with fresh ones. It took forever just to get a drink refill. The prepared steak from the grill was old & hard. I hope the service & the food is better during peak times.
This was my and my mothers 1st visit to this location. From the door the floors were not clean and the Food & Dessert bars needed to be kept up. (Low food, spills, etc.) As I tried to select forks and spoons several in the CLEAN rack were dirty. I even watched one customer wipe his off just to use it!
When the food is fresh this restaurant shines. However the food is not fresh more often then not. Also the servers are usually extremely rude , or non-observant. I have been 5 times since they opened over several month period. The breakfast buffet is sub par. And the dinner is so so. Honestly go to Southern Grub instead the food there is fresh, and it is family owned.
I have a shell fish allergy and when I asked the guy behind the bar if the fish (the main reason we came)had been cooked with shrimp, shell fish or in the same grease he said " I don't know probably" THIS should be something staff knows. So I had the baked chicken to be safe, corn, potatoes and roll. the meal was JUST OK. Mom seemed to enjoy her fish. The bathroom was filthy and the place was not even busy or on a wait. The DEAL BREAKER... There was a couple about to sit at the table beside us and a ROACH crawled across the table as they were putting their plates down. The man asked for management and all the YOUNG MANAGER said was sorry, I can move you to another table. By this time we had paid and eaten. But had we not we would have left because if you have roaches in the dining room you have them in the kitchen!! WE WILL NEVER GO BACK!!!

The food was good. Our server took a while to bring us our drinks, but she did thank us for our patience and she gave us complimentary coffee. However, my husband noticed a small roach crawling on the wall right behind me. Kinda makes you lose your appetite, you know?
